Everyone in the manufacturing industry knows and has experience with press forging. But not many know what is press tool technology? It is a manufacturing technique used in the production of various components and industry-related parts. It uses various components to perform various operations on blank sheet metal.

There are various steps used in the press forging using press tool technology. Some of these are:

  • Blanking: A blanking die produces a flat piece of metal with the aid of slicing the required design in one operation. The completed section is referred to as a blank. Generally, a blanking die can also solely reduce the outer contour of a part, frequently used for components with no inner features
  • Three advantages to die blanking are:

o   Appearance.
o Flatness
  •  Broaching: The method of casting off metal by the use of more than one slicing teeth, with every teeth slicing behind the other. A broaching die is regularly used to get rid of metal from components that are too thick for shaving.
  • Bulging: This die is used to expand the ends of a closed tube to ensure uniform expansion. The kind of expansion that is created is similar to that of extending a cylinder with a flat surface.

Apart from this process, there are various other processes that can be done by using the press tool technology. All of these techniques are responsible for applying certain operations on the sheet metal.

The press tool makes use of a press-to-connect technique to create a quick, reliable, totally watertight seal. You by no means have to take tension about the joint or the repaired pipe bursting at the pressed location. Using a press tool permits you to work in tighter areas than you would normally be able to attain with normal pipework tools.
